IMPORTANT CHANGES - NEW CU@HOME AND TELEPHONE BANKING PASSWORDS
All internet banking and telephone passcodes have been reset. As of our conversion to our new banking system you will be required to logon with a new passcode.
For internet banking or telephone banking the first time you login after conversion, you will have to enter in the last 7 digits of your membercard as your passcode. If you have more than one membercard you will have to use the last 7 digits of your membercard WITH THE LOWEST NUMBER. You will then be prompted to pick a new passcode (unfortunately you are unable to use letters in your passcode). This new 5 to 8 digit passcode that you choose will be the same for your internet and telephone banking. Please do not use your phone number or another number easy for someone to guess). The new number to call for Flin Flon Credit Union telephone banking is 1-888-949-0226. You will notice that now all of the accounts that have your name (joint or otherwise) will be available under your internet and telephone banking. In order to keep them straight you have the ability to "name" your accounts on the internet (ex: Vacation funds). You will have to input your utility payment payees once again as this information was unable to be transferred over to the new system. Also the URL for the CU@home login page has changed. If you have it saved in your favorites then please re-save the link after the July 23rd weekend.

The Board of Directors have approved new regular business hours for the Flin Flon Credit Union which begin July 23rd. The new regular hours of business starting after our Conversion Weekend (July 23rd to 26th) are:

2008 PATRONAGE PAID TO SURPLUS SHARES

Click the icon on our homepage or under the borrowing tab to give us some starter information. This will allow us to complete some preliminary checks and provide us with your contact information so we may follow up with any detail we may need.
You will need to attend the branch for signatures and identification purposes but we can get things started and avoid multiple trips to the branch.

ENHANCEMENTS WERE MADE TO PERSONAL ACCOUNT ON AUGUST 1ST
There have been some changes to our personal chequing and savings accounts August 1st. We have added two great benefits to our MemberCards and chequing accounts;
1. You will be able to earn CHOICE REWARD points when you use your debit card in store and,
2. Buyer Protection and Extended Warranty insurance will be available on most FFCU chequing accounts and MemberCards.

2ND PATRONAGE REBATE MADE TO THE MEMBER EQUITY PLAN
In February 2008, the Flin Flon Credit Union paid it's 2nd patronage rebate to it's membership through the Member Equity Plan! Check your upcoming statement for the amount you earned under 2007 Surplus Shares. The amounts are based on the amount of interest you earned and paid during the nine months of April 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007* and represents a return of approximately 40% of our profits for that period. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to continuing to demonstrate to you the difference of membership.
*The Flin Flon Credit Union has changed it's fiscal year end date from March 31st to December 31st which is why this fiscal period represents a shorter period than normal. Our next year end date will be December 31, 2008.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEMBERS
Anyone with e-mail access may be aware that there has been a recent flood of e-mails aimed at deceiving members of financial institutions into accessing legitimate looking Web sites in order to update confidential and financial information.
The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established financial institution in an attempt to defraud the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft is known as “Phishing”. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords, credit card numbers, social insurance numbers, and bank account numbers, that their financial institution already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the user’s information. Because it is relatively simple to make a Web site look like a legitimate financial institution site, the scam counts on people being tricked into thinking they are actually being contacted by their financial institution to update their account information. By spamming large groups of people, the “phisher” counts on the e-mail being read by a percentage of people who actually have dealings with the financial institution in question.
Phishing is a variation on “fishing,” the idea being that bait is thrown out with the hopes that while most will ignore the bait, some will be tempted into biting.
